Knowing where to begin to deal with your personal struggles can be difficult. I know it’s challenging to navigate difficult emotions and relationships with others. You are the expert in your life, but sometimes we need assistance in knowing how to start making positive changes. We will focus on your strengths and how to nurture and grow them. My primary focus is to help clients discover the best version of themselves in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
I worked for 3 years in community mental health before becoming a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am passionate about helping others become the version of themself that they want to be. My approach starts in trauma-informed care and is tailored to each individual’s need, with a background in CBT and DBT. I have experience working with acute mental illness, substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety. I work with all ages and backgrounds and welcome you to reach out if you are interested in seeing if we could be a good
fit.

At some point in our life we will experience adversity, trauma, heartbreak, or loss. This can often cause us to lose sight of who we are, dimish our voice, distort our self-perception, or change how we view the world at large. My goal as a therapist is to help you find the tools that will help you work through the issues you have gone through or maybe going through, while successfully not only helping you cope but to thrive, heal, and move forward stronger, and more confident.
My therapeutic approach is integrated and multicultural, meaning that I like to pull from different therapeutic approaches to tailor an approach that fits you and will give you the tools that will help you succeed in reaching your goals. The therapeutic approaches I work from are person-centered, humanistic, and mindfulness-based therapy to name a few.
My goal is to facilitate a space that will help you heal and work through your personal life issues. I am here to walk beside you as you work through current issues, heal from the past, discover or rediscover who you are, set healthy boundaries, find your voice, and help build confidence while discovering the happiest and best version of yourself.

Counseling for Trauma and PTSD

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am trained to look for the widespread impact of trauma on a client’s life and relationships and to consider underlying reasons for their particular beliefs and behaviors. I’m passionate about working with individuals to help them overcome their past and find meaning in life after trauma.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a psychotherapy treatment used to alleviate the distress associated with past trauma. Clients who engage in EMDR go through an eight-phase treatment that involves attention to the past, present and future. EMDR therapy addresses past emotional disturbances, memories and events, while helping the person develop new skills and attitudes to move toward a positive tomorrow.

I am grateful each day to play a role in the facilitation of healing and transformation. I am truly fulfilled by my work, because I see the positive impact it makes on a person’s life.

What to Expect in Counseling

My job as a therapist is to facilitate the process of healing and change using evidence-based treatments and a humanizing stance. I am fully committed to meeting the individual needs of my clients and I make every effort to personally tailor the process.

I take an existential approach in that I see many of the problems we experience are part of the human condition. Unfortunately, our reality is limited by what we can perceive. I view the process of psychotherapy as an ever-evolving lens to understanding the perceptions we have of ourselves and the relationships we have with our external world. The therapeutic process enables us to change our vantage point so we can see things more clearly, assess the challenges that lay ahead of us, and approach the future with optimism and healthier concept of self.

I make a commitment to you to work hard to help you get better, feel happier and attain goals which previously may have seemed impossible.
