Nicholas Weidell, LMHCA

My goal as your future counselor would be to help you achieve what matters most to you in life. The way I see it is that our emotions can feel so utterly controlling at times and pull us in all sorts of directions. When this happens, we can be convinced that we are not capable of succeeding. I want to foster a space and introduce tools that could help you drop the ropes that we feel are tied to us and live our valued life.

The framework I use for my session comes largely from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In this therapy, we focus on developing what we call psychological flexibility. When a person wants to do something that is important to them but their mind says stop;  they can sometimes be psychologically rigid. I would love to be the person that helps you develop more psychological flexibility, as well as act as a validating witness to whatever struggles you would like to bring to the session.

Outside of my sessions I consider myself a lifelong learner and love to learn about psychology, mythology, traditional teachings, and the natural world.
